To discover needs of customers and sellers and to learn about bargaing


Description of the Activity:

  • We divide students into groups of six/eight/ten (depending on the group size)
  • Each gets a role: buyer or seller
  • Buyers go to sellers to buy coffee and negotiate.
  • They write down the prices in the score sheet
  • Comparison of price vs demand

BUYER SELLER
You want to buy a unit of coffee beans. You can pay ______ for it, but you want to pay the lowest price you possibly can, because the lower the price you negotiate, the greater your profit. You want to sell a unit of coffee beans. It costs you ______ to produce it, but you want to sell it for the highest price you can. The higher the price you negotiate, the greater your profits.
