Portraits of students from Piri Reis HighSchool – Diaconu Sara-Maria

In order to understand someone, or to co-work with them it is imperial to communicate in an effective way and make sure you are both understood. In turkish, the word ’’understand’’ is ’’anlamak’’ word close enough to the name Amnna , one of our friends from Piri-Reis High-school. I’ve made this connections because from every student we had to work for she was our column, our person.
In those few days we’ve spent with them we’ve learned how the students there cope with their teachers, and how close and familiar they are with them and many more things.
I would like, though, to tell you one particulary thing I liked about their students. And it is about their uniforms. I know, quite spectacular to talk about this concept even though here in our country is not as mandatory as in others, or at least in some places. When I first saw the 10 students all dressed up in their white sailor-alike uniforms and with how much pride they were wearing them it almost seemed unreal.
We had the chance to also spend some moments after our school program with the fellow high-schoolers and it was like they were completly different people! We often tend to mix our personal and ’’work” side mostly because we often share the same group of friends but never had them appart that much.
In all of our time there the students from Piri- Reis made sure that we feel welcomed. It was a bit hard, I might say, to understand each other at first; with time, we both began learning words and phrases in each other’s language and it was fun too.
We also find it rather curious that our educational level was somewhere above theirs, making us even proud to be from Ovidius high-school.
I’d go back anytime to spend some more quaility time with my new friends, whom we’ve exhanged such fantastic experiences!
