Erasmus+ Mobility in Hamburg – Learning Together and Shaping the Future – prof. Geafar Turchian
As part of the Erasmus+ project "Cities of the Future," students from our school participated in a mobility program at the Stadtteilschule Oldenfelde. The goal of the project was to address the challenges of modern cities and to develop ideas for a sustainable and livable future.
The week began with a warm welcome from the German hosts. Presentations about Hamburg, the German school system, and the Stadtteilschule Oldenfelde provided the participants with interesting insights into the daily school life of their partner school. Especially valuable was the participation in classes, which promoted direct exchange and opened up new perspectives.
A highlight of the mobility was the exploration of Hamburg. During visits to HafenCity, the Speicherstadt, and the Elbphilharmonie, the students had the opportunity to experience modern urban development and sustainable concepts. A city rally organized in mixed German-Romanian teams fostered cooperation, communication, and mutual support, thereby strengthening important social skills.
The visit to a practical showcase of modern technological applications also provided valuable inspiration for the project theme. The students discussed how intelligent control systems and innovative technical solutions are implemented in complex infrastructures, and what contribution they can make to shaping the cities of the future.
Throughout the mobility, the young people worked together in international groups. In doing so, they improved their language skills, strengthened their teamwork capabilities, and developed intercultural competences. They learned to take on responsibility, overcome challenges together, and respect different perspectives.
The conclusion of the week was marked by project work on the theme of "International Friendship." Working in mixed German-Romanian teams, the students reflected on their experiences and emphasized the importance of friendship, respect, and European cooperation.
The mobility program in Hamburg was an enriching experience for all participants, combining academic learning with personal development, team spirit, and intercultural exchange.
