Social entrepreneurship projects developed by the Romanian students – Covaleov Amalia

Social entrepreneurship is a concept that combines elements of business entrepreneurship with a strong focus on addressing social or environmental issues, and what better way to create projects that not only benefit our community but also shape us into responsible and empathetic individuals than become social entrepreneurs ourselves? This was the initiative of the „Ovidius” Theoretical Highschool students. Let’s see how it went!

As we all know, every great project’s starting point is a simple idea, a tiny spark in our brilliant brains. Coming up with original ideas wasn’t as difficult as we imagined, but the hard part was putting them in practice. However, with some determination and creativity, workshops, quiz games, mental health dedicated time, book exchanges and many more projects came to life, helping us either discover ourselves, be there for each other, make us feel safe and heard, or simply to create a more enjoyable and fun atmosphere. Were these projects worth the time and effort? Totally! They have turned us into a tight-knit community, they have empowered us to be changemakers, to think beyond ourselves, and to create a better future and they have shown us that age is no obstacle in making a difference. We broke down social barriers, coming together as a team. We were shown that as high school students, we may be young, but our aspirations and actions have the power to shape the world. We're not just students; we're social entrepreneurs, and we're ready to change the world, one project at a time.

In my opinion, being part of these social entrepreneurship projects has been a transformative experience. It has allowed me to see the direct impact my actions and has instilled a sense of responsibility towards the well-being of our community, and most of all made me think about my school as being more than just a place dedicated to academic achievements.
