Liceul Teoretic “Ovidius” a contribuit si contribuie la mai multe proiecte europene. Va oferim in continuare o scurta descriere a lor.

Capturing reality: youth using digital media proactively
The specific focus of the mutual collaboration between Private Trade School Varna (Bulgaria) and High School Ovidius (Roumania) is to enable the students to create effective digital media products that they will disseminate via various channels of communication in order to make an impact on their respective societies and peers. The media messages that the student will realize revolve around issues of ecological sustainability of the Black Sea coastal towns. As the participants are representatives of the two coastal towns, namely Varna and Constanta, their personal involvement in the issue of preservation of their immediate environment will be for them close to hearth. Through workshops on conceptualizing and executing digital media products, the students will be enabled to brainstorm, produce and publicize their own media products to a wide audience using digital technology tools in a proactive way. They will also learn about the downfalls of being a passive receiver of information and gain skills on how to use social media and digital technology proactively as means to become active citizens.
Black Sea Cultural Animation Program: Pilot model for mobilizing the common cultural characteristics for creative destination management in the Black Sea Basin
The Project “Black Sea Cultural Animation Program: Pilot model for mobilizing the common cultural characteristics for creative destination management in the Black Sea Basin” is implemented under Priority 3: Supporting cultural and educational initiatives for the establishment of a common cultural environment in the Basin, Measure 3.1: Promoting cultural networking and educational exchange in the Black Sea Basin communities of the Black Sea Basin Joint Operational Programme. The project introduces the concept of cultural animation as an interdisciplinary approach towards studying and presenting the cultural heritage of five model regions in the Basin. On this basis a common education program is to be developed and introduced with the aim to raise the capacity of students in social sciences (especially tourism) to develop new “products” of culture and attractions based on their regions’ indigenous heritage. This is done via targeted partnership of 7 representative organisations form 5 Black Sea regions who intend to preserve the BS CAP cooperation model upon completion of this Action. The Black Sea Basin Programme is co-financed by the European Union through the European Neighborhood and Partnership Instrument and the Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance.

BioDiesel
The biodiesel is an ecological fuel that takes the normal diesel’s place. The diesel is made out of petroleum, and this is a non-renewable source. As organic substance, petroleum was made from the biomass, plants, and animals in the past million years. The specialist says that the actual sources of petroleum are going to be enough just for the next thousand of years. The burning of fossil fuels determines in the same time the atmosphere’s pollution with chemical wasted thus resulting global warming.

Dobrogea
The term of diversity if often associated with that of biodiversity (the diversity of species, of biotopes, of ecosystems). We tried to approach a less researched topic, that of ethno-diversity. Dobrogea is a unique territory, a different area from the rest of the country, faunistic and floristic, ethnographic and cultural. If you discuss with a herpetologist, he will tell you that Dobrogea is the richest region in reptiles from Romania. If you discuss with an ornithologist he will tell you about Histria, Chituc and Lupilor sandy lands as being very important regions in our country for their avifauna.
From waste to energy
We started this project from the idea of connecting two environmental issues: solid waste (especially the plastic bottles that are everywhere) and the need of sustainable use of energy. The fossil fuels are non-renewable resources, therefore we are suppose to find another way of proving our energy supplies. Wind energy is non polluting, save, renewable. The plastic waste are very difficult to collect, treat/reuse. Most of the plastic bottles end up in garbage dumps without any possibility of recycling its. We suggest a methods that allows us to solve both environmental issues – waste and energy, by using plastic bottles for manufacturing a small and affordable wind plant, a Savonius turbine.
